Durango's live music scene is small, and it is easy to navigate once you know three things. A few theaters book touring acts. A handful of bars book local bands, some of them every night. And every July, a classical festival takes over town.

Yes, in two forms. Ska Brewing has advertised afternoon sets with no cover, for example a show at 4 p.m. with food specials, per Visit Durango. And Music in the Mountains, the classical festival each July, runs a free "Road Show" series of outdoor concerts on a mobile stage in parks around the region. The 2026 festival ran July 9 to August 2, per its Visit Durango listing. Its orchestra concerts happen at the Community Concert Hall.
What if you want to dance?
